Site Visit- Subang Airport (11 October 2017)

A site visit to Subang Airport was conducted on 11 October to study the spatial planning, architecture and interior design of the airport and also the building programme in this chosen airport.

Architecture & Design of the Building:
-Old and industrial feel
-Concept of a trajectory of a departing aircraft
-Used of perforated metal panels for ceiling (reduce noise)
-Suspended ceiling design

Spatial Planning & Spatial Quality:
-Kiosk along the center of the walkway which is messy and not organized
-Restaurants and cafe on the second floor with view & natural lighting
-Mezzanine floor with airlines office and sky lounge
-Small departure and arrival gate/ entrance
-Hard to navigate without proper signage
-No seating area provided or place to sleep due to flight delayed
